adventures!

yarmayarmayarmaargh! i am having the hardest time updating my site. for some reason or another i can no longer do it thru aol. i have to do it thru aol.com. aish. i should go write someone a letter. but anyway, this last week has been a good week. except for a few terrible things that happened! tuesday night i got really sick for no good reason. was throwing up, had a fever, chills, headache... it was terrible. and i missed gilmore girls, like the one tv show i actually watch. then last that week reepal got pretty sick too! nothing as bad as me, no vomiting or anything but he felt really bleh. then when i was driving home on friday i heard a big 'crack'! but christie (my car) seemed to be driving okay so i didn't think too much about it. then when i turned off the freeway i heard this weird 'tha.thunk tha.thunk' noise so i pulled off to the side of the road. reep got out first to check and he pulled a screwdriver out of the bottem side plastic paneling of my car! a whole screwdriver! appt the thing had like... stabbed itself into my car! crazy! but really, i am so lucky because altho it did hit my car it didn't do any really obvious damage (well, unless you're looking at christie from underneath. ...that sounds wrong. lol, esp because you can't upskirt a car that doesn't have skirts to begin wit. ! ). and very luckily it didn't go thru my windshield and kill either reep or me! crazy! anyway. so yeah. that was basically my week. eesh!

burn!

* An Alaskan assemblyman authored legislation to punish "public flatulence, crepitation, gaseous emission, and miasmic effluence," with a $100 penalty.

* Firefighters in Thurston, Washington slept through a fire in their own station. A passing police officer noticed the blaze and called in the alarm.

* In 1986, firefighters used wire cutters and pliers to free a San Jose, California woman from a tight pair of designer jeans.

* In the 1988 Massachusetts Democratic primary, Herbert Connolly dashed from a late campaign appearance to the polling place to cast his ballot. He got there fifteen minutes. The final tally: 14,716 to 14,715.

* The Internal Revenue Service fined George Wittmeier $159.78 for not paying all of his taxes. He was a penny short on his return.

lazy days of summer

erm... when did reepal get so old and boring like? lol, no seriously tho, he doesn't ever really want to do anything. just being together is good enough for him. which, while sweet, is a bit... i dunno, i suppose i shouldn't be complaining. no drama is good drama! but it's not like i want to go party or anything, i'm not into that stuff. but i would like to go and do something. not just sit around. maybe go (since i'm so into photo right now) somewhere, anywhere, and just see wat there is to see. or just do as we used to and get in the car, listen to good music (that we both like!) and sing at the top of our lungs and get lost and just drive. of course, gas is so expensive these days and really, i'd prefer it if he drove cause then i could take pictures but weekdays he doesn't get the car and i hate asking him if he can drive. i kno it sounds stupid but i feel like i'm mooching off of him whenever i want him to drive or pay for something. which is silly, cause he works and i don't and yes, i do pay for my own gas, at least when i take a detour from where ever i should be driving to. he is tight on money these days tho. but i dunno... he is content wit just being together and he doesn't take to my suggestions of wat to do. anyway. this weekend we went to the la palma day fair around 9.30pm, long after it had all closed. silly town.

lingyin cont

and here're some random lingyin temple pictures. we only spent a few hours here but i loved it! was seriously considering painting my room the colors of the temple too. first picture is on one of the tiers. second picture actually has a bit of a funny story associated. in many temples you're not allowed to take photos. and in this building it was no exception. except that my stay in china was nearly done and i had seen all these giant buddhas and had nearly no pictures of them! so i took a picture anyway. now, in all traditional doorways in china there is a giant step-like thing to keep the evil spirits out. in all my stay i managed to never trip over even once! but this one time that i broke the rules and took a picture... i walked right into it and had this big ugly bruise midshin that lasted for weeks! bleh. but i have to say that i do think it was worth it. :) picture three is of some of the construction. picture four is a shot of inside a building, which i dunno, didn't really have anything in it, except dirt, a stool and a tree trunk (maybe you can't see it, but that's the thing up front). last picture is outside another building. bottem right is a small pond wit fish in it. pretty!
