maths

the thing about gambling. it's like not if you've just lost 20 straight games then you just have to win the next one. people think, well, it's win or lose, right? that's 50/50. and wat are the chances that when flipping a coin you're gonna get 20 tails in a row? but no. for coins, head and tails are basically 50/50. and in cards, or most games worth playing, winning and losing is not 50/50. the chances of you winning are quite slim. and anyway each time you win or lose, that's independent of all the previous or future games. it's unlikely you'll get 20 tails in a row. but that's just as likely as if you got 10 heads and 10 tails. and keeping that first bit in mind, you losing 20 times in a row is like a million times more likely than you getting 20 heads. so think of that the next time you're  gambling away, about to put down a couple hundred because you're sooo sure you're luck is about to change. dream on. or better yet, go learn some math.

Roulette can be 50/50 if you're betting on red/black.  But who plays that, right?

i just want to say.  red and black on roulette is not 50/50 because there's zero and double zero.  which are... green  so you actually get worse odds then 50/50.  but what do i know i dont gamble
