me&ro has this men's 'silver tiny skull with path of the heart on peruvian opal beads' necklace for $705 ($705!!). supposedly the chinese engraving says 'follow the path of the true heart' but i dunno... it seems like that's just one word (which says 'listen' btw). did they really fit all the rest of that on the back? or is it just another lazy ass pretending to kno chinese? which pisses me off more than anything! i'm so tired of people attributing our beautiful chinese language to the japanese! if you don't kno which is wat, then don't f*cking pretend! do you even kno wat most kanji really is? it's chinese you idiot! there is actually japanese kanji, btw. but it's like simplified chinese. and most kanji is just chinese, plain and simple. the thing about this 'kanji' bit, is that so many people who don't kno jack shit about chinese or japanese, mutilate our languages and lump them all together. people think they're getting tattoos in japanese words? um, no. more likely than not, it's chinese you're getting. chinese characters look 'prettier' because they're more complicated looking than japanese characters. and for god's sake do some damn research before you get your freakin tat. or, if you can't (and why the hell not?!), at the very least use come common sense, huh? for instance (2nd row, 1st of left), 'year of the rat' really? doesn't that look like just one character to you? now how likely does it seem that 'year of the rat', four words, became just one word? pretty unlikely huh? yeah, you kno why? because it didn't. oh, and btw, your tattoo actually means a number of things, including 'son', but nothing even remotely close to 'year of the rat' or 'year' or 'rat' or anything in between. dumbass. oh, and for as for a couple of you on that page? your tat may say the right thing, but uh... it's upside down. idiots! anyway, here's a site of a a lot of mistakes and misuses of chinese words. pretty good site actually.
