i returned something at the store today and altho i used a credit card to purchase it, i got cash back (weird). anyway, i didn't lookit the money until i got home. the brand new $1 bill seemed a bit thick so i checked again and it was actually two $1 bills stuck together. too bad it wasn't a $20!, i first thought. but actually i would most likely go back and return the money if it was a 20. i'd probably go back if it was a $10 too. anything under $5 and i'd most likely keep (i'm keeping the extra $1).
wat about you? at wat point would you take the money back?

i'd have a couple factors determine my "threshold". like how far would i have to travel or how much time would i have to spend to bring the money back? or how much of a loss is it to the company/store? if the trip was short enough, i'd bring even a few dollars back unless it was starbucks or mcdonalds. or microsoft. but there's a point when i'd definitely bring the money back no matter what ($10+).
depends how soon I noticed. If I didnt notice when it happened, I wouldn't return it unless it was $100 bill or more. If i did notice when it happened, I return it most all the time unless the person who messed up was pissing me off.
hey that's pretty cool...
definitely the distance of the store is a huge factor. but yea, for a few bucks, eh, they'll live, but like...$20, $100---yea, i'd feel guilty taking that money and it SUCKS for that cashier, i've been a cashier, i know what it's like to be short!!
sorry i haven't been checking your site lately!
