go to most major department stores and see in the women's department sections for 'regular', 'larger sized' and petites. well no longer! neiman marcus, sakes 5th, and bloomies are getting rid of their petite departments. okay. i may be totally off but i wonder if perhaps race has to do something to do wit this. asians tend to be 'smaller' than the general american public. and many asians also like to shop at higher end department stores such as the ones aforementioned. is this their way of keeping us down and out? i mean... if anything the petites industry is growing. there are whole stores now to the 'vertically challanged'. and petites is for 5foot 4? that's slighter taller than our national average for women. the article says that women suspect that the department stores view petites as being 'older, unfashionable and undesirable.' well undesirable may just be right. =\
