oy, i'm a bit behind on updating this site... lots have been going on, i've just not really had the inclination to write about it. biggest thing recently was the daphne loves derby concert reepal i went to on thrusday night. the bit leading up to that is actually a pretty good story. so i was gonna order tickets online from ticketmaster. but as i was buying them i saw that they charged a buttload for fees and such. each ticket was originally $12. then for each ticket there was a $1 venue fee in addition to another $4something service fee. in other words, instead of paying just $24 i'd have to pay upwards of $38! (...i kno if you add the numbers up it doesn't equal nearly $38 but that's the number i remeber seeing... tax?) which means i could've bought a whole other ticket for wat i paying in service charges! bah. so the concert was at the glasshouse in pomona and reepal has school in pomona on wednesday. so i asked if after school he could maybe swing by and get tickets. he said sure. then on wednesday (the day i went to lunch and then shopping wit thy and bought a beautiful electric blue eyeliner at sephora) sometime around noon reepal calls me and says that he's hella sick and that he's leaving school early and going home. as he was walking and talking he sounded really really bad so i offered to go to shool and pick up him. he declined. anyway, then like 2 hours later he calls me back sometime and says that he's lost and can't find glasshouse. ... wat?! yeah, appt he got back to his car and slept a while, then he felt good enough to drive around town and look around for that place so he could buy the tickets. isn't he amazing?! :) so yeah. that's my story. so i was thinking that even if he doesn't always like... pull it together for our holidays and such, he's pretty dang awesome most of the time. which is really wat counts. :) oy, even better, when i got home yesterday, i found that i had recieved my dld (daphne loves derby) cd in the mail (i had ordered it off ebay).
some horrifyingly bad pictures, i yes i kno... 1. openner curt phillips. 2. singers of agent sparks. 3. singer of quietdrive. 4. singer (and drummer) of waking ashland.5. and daphne loves derby's lead singer kenny choi (yes, korean).
overall a very good night. we got there early (we're not pretentious like some!) and saw all the bands (and i liked them all too). even reepal seemed to have fun. :) that area of pomona is also quite nice. you have to drive thru some shady areas to get there, but once there... and parking for the whole day was only 75cents! amazing! but mainly, i wanna thank reepal for making it all possible. :) thanks again!
